If this the beginning of your journey into Reggio Emilia, you have come to the right place! My focus is to create a space where learning can take place. I strive to teach about the Reggio Emilia Approach and how it can be implemented within the classroom environment. I am always looking for feedback on what my readers are wanting to learn and want to answer your questions here.
Reggio is a practice of teaching that views the child as capable and competent as a learner. Children are natural researchers and because of their curiosity, they have a innate desire to learn and ask questions. As teachers of the Reggio Emilia Approach, we DO NOT transmit knowledge (through worksheets or lecture) but have the environment of the classroom, through thoughtful invitations and collaborative work, allow the child to be the knowledge maker. We teach to the child’s strength, allowing the process of learning be what we focus on, not the outcome.
